Professional adviser brief
Prepare decision support and an adviser-ready brief without substituting for a licensed professional. The method can give a concise practical triage in chat or, when the user explicitly requests a durable brief, draft a structured artifact for adviser review. It does not make filings, sign documents, contact an adviser, or certify a legal, tax, accounting, insurance, or compliance conclusion.
Choose the mode
Triage mode — default
Use triage mode unless the user explicitly asks to create or save a brief, memo, or adviser packet. State:
1. the practical bottom line and safest near-term action; 2. likely exposure and tradeoffs, separated from remote possibilities; 3. the facts that could change the answer; and 4. one focused question for the appropriate adviser, when professional review would materially improve the decision.
Ground decision-changing statements in current authoritative sources when available. Do not make a filing, tax, legal, accounting, or regulatory conclusion from an unverified excerpt or secondary summary.
Brief mode — explicit request only
Use this workflow only when the user explicitly asks for a saved brief.
1. **Frame the question.** Establish the issue, relevant jurisdictions or standards, affected entity or person, deadline, and unknown facts. Do not assume a home jurisdiction, entity type, or governing law. 2. **Decompose the issue.** Separate legal, tax, accounting, insurance, compliance, and operational questions rather than treating them as one. 3. **Research authoritative sources.** Prefer the controlling statute, regulation, agency guidance, contract, standard, court decision, filing, or policy. Use secondary material only to locate or explain the primary source. Capture the exact URL and proposition as you research. 4. **Verify.** Confirm each cited source actually supports the nearby claim; identify effective dates and gaps. Cut anything that cannot be verified. 5. **Draft the adviser brief.** Translate the issue into plain language, preserve uncertainty, and make the questions specific enough for an adviser to answer. 6. **Propose the destination.** Write only after the user approves the file or system of record and the host provides an approved write path.

Safety rules
- Never invent a statute, regulation, case, filing, authority, or citation. - Cite controlling material inline beside each decision-changing claim and list every source at the end; re-check the URL-to-claim pairing before finalizing. - State that the brief is decision support, not professional advice. - For an urgent dispute, regulator contact, threatened claim, deadline, or safety issue, recommend prompt contact with the appropriate professional and give only the safest immediate operational step. - Keep personal, customer, and privileged material private; do not distribute it without explicit authorization.
