  5. Assess transparency, reported ethics approvals, limitations, and data availability from supplied statements. Distinguish reported approval from verified compliance and flag observable concerns without alleging misconduct.
  6. Write major comments for issues affecting the central conclusion and minor comments for local clarity or reporting. Request concrete corrections within scope; if scoring, explain anchors and uncertainty rather than claiming publication-readiness thresholds.

Output: Return coverage note, overall evidence-bounded assessment, major/minor location-linked comments, strengths, and optionally a dimension table with qualitative or requested numerical judgments.

Quality checks: Do not establish novelty, exhaustive field coverage, publication readiness, or ethics compliance from a limited packet. Treat review scores as judgments, not validated scientific measurements. Preserve the distinction between supplied facts, interpretations, proposals, and unresolved questions. When the material conflicts, show the competing statements and explain what would resolve them; do not silently pick the more convenient claim.

Worked example: A report's Methods section describes an opt-in survey, while its Conclusion says the intervention caused higher retention. The major comment links those sections and asks for causal wording to be narrowed or an appropriate comparison explained. A minor comment asks Results to define the survey denominator. The review does not demand a new national study or allege misconduct because an ethics statement was not included in the excerpt.

Finish at a useful decision boundary. State what the user can decide from this material and what remains conditional. Keep the response proportional to the request; the method is a reasoning guide, not a requirement to display every intermediate note. Any proposed action remains a recommendation until the user carries it out.
